Supporting Children with Hearing Loss

If you've just learned that your child has a hearing loss or are just helping your child get started with hearing aids, you may be feeling anxious about the new roles and responsibilities required of you as a parent. While there are certainly unique challenges involved in parenting a baby or child with a hearing loss, it's important to remember that your son or daughter is first a child, and second, a child with a hearing loss.

The information in this part of Parents' Corner offers general guidance and practical tips on how you and others can get your child off to the best start after he or she is diagnosed with a hearing loss. Your child's hearing healthcare professional should always be your primary source of advice.
