Halla Piekarski

Halla Piekarski is a personal counselor. She places great value on her hearing since listening and speaking with others is important for her career. Halla began wearing hearing instruments about twenty-five years ago. After trying the Unison™ 6 HP (High Power) hearing aids, she says:

“I am hearing clearer and better than I ever have -- since 1969 when I bought my first hearing aids!”

According to Halla, “As soon as I put my hearing aids in, I notice a huge difference. Things are clearer. I hear my cat meow. I hear the signal light in my car, conversations, and the TV. I can even hear voices when they are in another room and at a distance.”

Halla relishes participating in conversations:

“I'm intelligent and I have things to say. I love to listen and share with others. I found that I was not participating in conversations because I could not hear,” she explains.

“But now it's wonderful! I will be able to do more counseling. All I really want from my hearing aids is to be able to listen to words and understand them. I find this so gratifying in the Unison 6 model.”

Halla's Unison 6 HP hearing instruments are so natural sounding and quiet that she doesn't notice when they are on. She can hear speech clearly at church, at the mall, and while in cafés and in the car. She was surprised that she could even hear loud conversations and music from passing cars. She also likes how easy it is to turn the hearing aids on and off by opening and closing the battery door. She finds this an accessible feature for older adults who may have less manual dexterity in their hands.

Halla is very pleased with her Unison hearing instruments.

“I do not care so much about the noises of the world. I care about communication between people – in education, social activities, and sharing one-to-one. Or hearing sounds I want to hear like the birds chirping. When you have a disability, you lose your personal power and dignity because you cannot hear as you would like. Hearing aids, like the Unison 6, give you back your power.”
